Some classic architectural design features include the use of timber panelling, high-pitched ceilings, exposed beams, timber floors, neutral and ocean inspired colours and natural materials. This sophisticated & cleverly designed lodge makes a truly unique getaway. Bedrooms at each end, a central open-plan lounge-dine-cook area, ocean-inspired décor… The Hampton has style and sophistication in spades. What makes the layout special is the bedrooms are at each end; enclaves of luxurious privacy, almost like little lodges all on their own, each with shower and bathroom en suite.

The Hampton’s day space is open plan – kitchen, lounge and dining area all integrated yet each element well separated from the others, each with its own character. And, throughout, the amount of window space is amazing, so every area of the lodge is filled with light. Even on a dull day, the Hampton is an exceptionally light and airy environment. It’s the exterior shape and style that will command your attention first, though.

The front elevation has three facets, with the largest, central section slightly forward of those which flank it. Each has enormous door-windows so that you can let the outside in when the weather is warm, and at all times, enjoy your vista to the full. Dark grey frames emphasise the windows as a design feature and the cedar cladding creates a superb Scandinavian look. Inside, the look takes on a coastal aspect, with blues as the accent colour and white used to accentuate space.

Lounge

White ceilings with exposed beams and white walls emphasise the high-pitched ceiling going upwards towards the gorgeous big front windows, all combine to make the Hampton look crisply modern. Yet together with being modern, this is an essentially cosy holiday home, with hints of tradition in the furnishings and details. The white fireplace houses a classic log-effect fire. The cabinetry has a suggestion of shaker style. The mellow fawn that upholsters the big L-shaped sofa injects a warm tone. And all the lounge seating is positioned to face the log-effect stove as the focal point of the lounge.

At the opposite end of the open-plan living space from the fireplace, the dining area seems separate. Yet it’s integrated; the four tall, upholstered chairs match the settee. There’s another option for dining. More chairs, this time cream, with a touch of tradition in the styling, sit up to a breakfast bar, against a part-wall that divides the kitchen from the lounge. Above the breakfast bar is one of the Hampton’s most eye-catching features: three huge glass globe lantern pendant lights are suspended from chunky chrome chains. Just lovely!

Kitchen

Cream, shaker-style cabinets give vast amounts of hideaway space. Appliances are a five burner hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washer-dryer. The units are arranged in an L-shape, with the hob at one end and the oven in a tower unit that marks out the junction between the kitchen and the dining area. Bright spotlights in the bases of the cabinets send little pools of light onto wood flooring; a nice touch!

Bedrooms

The ocean blue theme that appears in the array of lounge cushions gets going in the bedroom and bathroom décor, in cushions, bed runners involving dark blue and sea-turquoise in the pattern, and dark blue bathroom tiles.
